What a quiz ID looks like and where it sits in the address
A quiz ID always has the same shape: 8, 4, 4, 4 and 12 characters separated by hyphens, for example 1a2b3c4d-1111-4222-8333-444455556666. You do not have to retype it: copying the whole address that contains it is enough.

In each of these addresses the ID is the last long code: after “/details/”, after the name of the quiz, or after “quizId=”.
Quiz ID and game PIN: the difference
A game PIN is a short code of digits that you type at kahoot.it to join a session. According to Kahoot’s help center, the host creates it when starting a live game or assigning a kahoot. In a live game it works only until the game ends, and in an assignment until its deadline.
A quiz ID is permanent and belongs to the quiz, not to a session. The same quiz can be played a hundred times with a different PIN each time and the same ID. That is why an ID cannot be read from a PIN: the PIN does not say which quiz is being played.
Where to get the link to a quiz
- From the author of the quiz. Kahoot has a share feature: the author copies the link to the quiz and sends it to anyone.
- From the quiz page in Kahoot. When a quiz is open, its address in the browser contains the ID after “/details/”.
- From a solo game link. The address of solo play contains “quizId=” followed by the ID.
- From the game address. In the address of the game screen the ID comes after “quizId=”.
Kahoot answers by quiz ID
Paste the link or the ID alone into the field on the Kahoot page in Quizonator and click “Show answers”. You see the title of the quiz, numbered questions and all the choices, with the correct ones marked. You can copy everything with one click. You need no account and none of your plan’s answers are used.
Not every quiz shares its key. If a link gives nothing, AI gives you the hint during the game: the Chrome extension in self-paced kahoots, or the app, also from the classroom screen.

A PIN means a live game or an assignment. In a live game the question is on the classroom screen, so a phone helps: the Quizonator iOS app reads the question with the camera and shows the right tile. It is a beta feature of the PRO and PRO+ plans, and one question uses 2 answers per question through November 15, 2026, then 5.
In an assignment that you finish at your own pace, the question is on your own screen. There the Chrome extension marks the answer, and one question uses one answer from the plan.
